Loren Bogart -- Message from Bob Stalcup

I am saddened to being teary eyed to read Mike's annonuncement about Loren. I remember Loren. To borrow from John Dunne, "when one dies, it is a piece of us all... it diminishes us all...No man is an island..."

I remember Loren, AJ B.(AJ past two years before graduation-heart valves), Mark M, Jerry S, Liz H., John C., Randy S, Jeff J., Bob J., Bob K., Jim L., Sandy L., Barbara Mc., Ruben Mc., Othello M., Ronnie P, Diane P., Sandra R., Carol S., Jenell T., Jacqueline T., Charles W., Phil Y., and JD. I remember most on the list.

I had not until this moment looked at the names on the SHS64 website to see all of my friends and those I knew that have past. Jerry was my debate partner, we won a trophy together for SHS '64. Bob J was on the same debate squad. I ran with or rode with many of these guys and talked to all and dated several of these girls...

We have all experienced the passing of a loved one or friend. The sorrow it engenders and the realization of our mortality stings. Mike's comments of association, celebration of friendships are strong. I have to say, besides the earthly ties that are so precious to us, there are spiritual, eternal elements involved in our mortality and our desire to go beyond...

May God be gracious to Loren and may He be gracious unto us all.

As from a well of sorrow I shout, "HELLO MY FRIENDS!!!!!"

Class of '64
